How to Play
Goal of the game: Collect as many fish tiles as you can by moving your penguins across the ice floe before it breaks apart.
Setup
Hexagonal tiles are arranged to form a continuous ice floe. Each tile shows 1, 2, or 3 fish. Each player then places their penguins on tiles with 1 fish (4 penguins in a 2-player game; 3 and 2 penguins respectively in 3- and 4-player games).
Player Turn
On their turn, a player performs two actions in order:
- Move one of their penguins – The penguin moves in a straight line (across one or more tiles) to any free tile, without jumping over gaps or other penguins. It cannot cross missing tiles (holes).
- Pick up the tile it just left – After finishing its move, the player takes the tile the penguin started on, collects the fish shown, and removes that tile from the board. This may create a hole in the ice, splitting the board into separate sections. If a penguin becomes isolated (no path to other tiles), it is stuck there for the rest of the game.
End of the Game
The game ends when no player can move any of their penguins.
Each player counts the fish on the tiles they have collected; the player with the most fish wins.
Quick Tips
- Don’t isolate your penguins too early — always keep movement options open.
- Create tricky paths to limit your opponents’ moves, but avoid blocking yourself.
- Removing a strategic tile can force an opponent into a weaker position.
